This seminar will incorporate safety measures and self-defense techniques that will help those attending to be better aware of their surroundings in their every day lives. They will learn life saving techniques, both physical and mental, to better defend themselves in a dangerous situation. Several topics will be covered to help students with an overall understanding on how to stay safe and avoid becoming a victim. Striking techniques taught are quick, direct, and effective. Class will also consist of a few strength training exercises to help the body be better conditioned to ward off an attacker and fight back.
The instructor is a former police officer  - the first female officer in Bergen County, NJ - with approximately 50 years of training in the Martial Arts. She has taught Self Defense , Body Conditioning, WeightTraining, and Dynamics in Health and Fitness classes at the college level for 20 years. She has also taught at senior centers, community centers, high schools, elementary schools, and Girl and Boy Scout events over the last three decades.
