I've been with a company for over 10 years- originally from Italy- who were the first to introduce me to the concept of headspa. When I traveled to Italy with them, I saw firsthand how thoughtful and intentional their products were and how beautifully they married ritual, holistic self care, and clean ingredients.
It was something I had never seen in a traditional salon setting.
When I returned to the States, I carried those ideas with me- bits and pieces of that magic. I tried to integrate them into the original Artemis in Matawan, but at the time, the environment just wasn't conducive. There was no designated sacred space for this kind of healing ritual, so I put it on the back burner.
Then came this new space, Ethos.
And with it, an ah-ha moment.
After COVID, there was so much collective healing needed in our communities. Our nervous systems were burnt out, overstimulated, and constantly "on". People needed a quiet place to tune out the noise of the world and tune into themselves- a space to take a deep breath and come home to their bodies.
That's where the Ethos Headspa came to life.
It's more than a service.
It's a ritual.
A ritual of adornment.
A ritual of sensory exploration- using essential oils, light therapy, water therapy, sound and touch to bring people back to the presence.
A full sensory experience.
We call it Midnight in the Garden.
It's a space where healing happens.
Every stylist brings their own unique magic to the experience, but the foundation remains the same: intentionality, connection, and love. No two sessions are ever the same. Every appointment becomes a sacred exchange of energy, a moment of rest and release inside a cosmic cocoon.
Because our headspa is so ritualistic, it is unlike anything else. It's organic. It's something we have been cultivating for years- long before it became a trend.
People now come in for the headspa not because it's 'popular', but because they can can feel the difference. It is about connectedness- to The Earth, to the community, to one another and to self.
Headspa for us, is a gift. A gift to our community, to our clients, to ourselves. It's something we have been perfecting and evolving through love and authenticity. It's not about machines or quick fixes- it's about human touch, presence and energy.
This ritual activates the crown chakra- the center of connection and enlightenment. It's community soul healing. It's about slowing down enough to receive.
At Ethos, the headspa means so much more than a trending service. It's love in motion.
It's heart work.
It's soul care
